Rimmel instant tan | Instant tan is an ingenious product which I only discovered this summer. It's great for when you you're going out and don't have time to actually fake tan but want some form of tan or when you only want a subtle glow and not the hassle of actual fake tan. You can also use it between fake tanning to 'top up' your tan when it begins to fade (this is how I generally use it). The Rimmel Sunshimmer instant tan is great. There are many different types, light colours and darker colours, matte and shimmer formulas and also a waterproof version, so there's something for everyone and it's not expensive!

Revlon moisture stain ~ London Posh | Revlon recently launched their new moisture stain lip products. London posh is the perfect nude with subtle shimmer - which isn't a 90s throwback. The formula is somewhere between a liquid lipstick and a gloss, it's not quite one or the other however they're 100% non sticky. I think I'm in love.

Avon ~ Sparkly citrus Eau De Toilette | My current favourite and everyday perfume is Scent Essence sparkly citrus from Avon. It’s very affordable and despite the low price tag lasts well throughout the day. As the name suggests the perfume has a light fruity scent which is great for everyday wear if you like to savour your more expensive perfumes like I do.

Barry M ~ Rosehip | I've spoken numerous times about how much I love the Barry M gelly nail polishes but I'm going to mention them again. The formula is great, we all should know that by now. My current favourite shade is a pastel pink which goes by the name of 'Rose Hip' (which was originally from the spring collection but isn't limited edition). This colour looks great with a tan but also without so it's a great summer colour for all skin tones.

MAC eyeshadow ~ Woodwinked | Woodwinked is a beautiful burnt gold shade and when blended turns into a matte burnt brown. It’s perfect for if you’re in a rush for you only need one shadow to create a lid and crease colour. I forgot about wood winked for a while but picked it up again recently and I can’t get enough.

How to | Splatter nail art

This post is a quick how to on splatter nails. It’s a super easy process and perfect for summer.

What you will need:
~ Base/Top coat ~
~ Four nail varnishes of varying colours ~
~ Cello-tape (optional) ~
~ Nail varnish remover ~
~ Cotton wool buds ~
~ Straws ~

Step one: Apply a base coat to protect the nails from any staining and apply a base colour. We chose to use a bright yellow (Avon nailwear pro+ in ‘Lemon Sugar’) but you can use any colour really, though if you’re going to use darker colours to splatter with we’d suggest you use a lighter base colour.

Step two: Next you want to cover the space around your nails with cello-tape - one strip above the cuticle and then a piece either side should suffice. This just makes the cleaning up process a bit easier however it is optional.

Step three: Next you want to chose the colours you want to splatter across your nails - we used various colours from the Barry M gelly line. Three colours works best however you can chose as many you want to. To splatter them across the nails you need to dip your straw into the nail varnish - using a different straw for each colour -  and then blow across the nail (be sure not to blow too hard or you’ll cover the whole nail or get large blobs of nail varnish which will take a while to dry..we found this out the hard way..). As you can see from the picture above this process can get quite messy so make sure you cover your work surface.

Step four: Leave your nails to dry completely (this may take some time depending on how many colours you used and how big the ‘splats’ were).

Step five: Remove the tape from around your nails - if you used any - and clean up around the edges by dipping a cotton wool bud into nail varnish remover.

My makeup bag

Today I thought I’d give you a little tour around my make-up bag. I tend to keep to the same basic make-up routine of a natural eye with winged liner however I do love to add a bright, bold lip at times (as you’ll see later on) and occasionally I’ll go for a darker more dramatic eye.

For lipsticks I love my orange-pinky brights.

(Left to right)
Clarins Jolie rouge - 07 Rasberry
Mac amplified - Impassioned
MUA - Shade 15 Juicy
Lancôme Rouge in love - 322M Corail in love
Kate Moss for Rimmel - 110

Eyes I like to keep neutral.

Urban decay - Naked palette* (the perfect palette for neutral eye lovers like me)
MUA - Heaven and Earth palette (such a bargain!)
MAC mineralize eyeshadow - snow season (limited edition)
MAC paint pot - painterly
MAC quad - Kid & Smut (my more dramatic eye colour)
MAC eyeshadow - omega (perfect brow colour)
Rimmel exaggerate liquid eyeliner - 001 Black
Avon glimmerstick eyeliner* - cosmic brown
Maybelline the falsies flared - Black

Base wise I am yet to find a foundation I love for my oily skin however I have found my favourite concealer.

No7 Beautiful skin BB cream Normal/Oily* - Fair
No7 Beautifully Matte foundation* - Warm Ivory
YSL touche éclat - shade 8
Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer - shade 1 (fair) & shade 2 (light)

For skin I only ever use one combination (I’ve also included my favourite lip balm because I didn’t know where else to fit it in).

Rimmel blush - 001 Santa Rose
Bourjois bronzer - shade 52
Blistex intensive moisturiser

That’s everything in my make-up bag (except my powder which I was too lazy to get from my handbag - it’s Rimmel stay matte for those interested).

What's in your make up bag?
