I wrote a post a few months back called The Step Which Makes a Big Difference talking about that one beauty step that many people miss out of their routine despite what a big difference it makes, that step being curling your eyelashes. That post got me thinking recently, what beauty steps are we all lazy at doing on a regular basis? 

For me it’s definitely painting my nails and moisturising. A few years back I was obsessed with painting my nails much to the annoyance of my teachers at school who were always chasing me with nail varnish remover. I was always experimenting with nail art and donning bright tips but in more recent times I've completely fallen out of love with painting my nails. I'm quite impatient with letting them dry which doesn't help but nowadays unless I'm obsessed with a particular shade - at the moment it's Barry M's Eat My Dust, review here - I leave them bare. 

The other beauty step I always miss in my routine is moisturising. I'm an avid face and neck moisturiser but when it comes to my hands and limbs I hate the sticky feeling you're left with whilst the moisturiser soaks into the skin so I avoid doing it as much as I can get away with. I've even tried the Nieva In Shower Body Moisturiser which although it works amazingly, still leaves a slight stickiness to the skin that I don't like. Though with summer coming up I should get into the habit of moisturising as scaly legs aren't the best look.

Olivier Bonas - Card Holder* | I’m awful at having a purse. It becomes a breeding ground for receipts and I can never find which card I’m looking for as I rarely carry cash with me. The solution to this problem is a card holder. This one from Oliver Bonas - a shop which I’ve become obsessed with recently - neatly holds my most important cards, driving license, debit card and of course my Boots advantage card, and its rose gold. 

Daniel Wellington - Mens Sheffield* | I have a bit of a thing for watches. Some women like to collect shoes and handbags, I like to collect watches. This is my third Daniel Wellington watch - a more in depth post coming soon. This one is from the mens section as I really love watches with a large face, its a classic style and I love it a lot.

Jo Malone - Tudor Rose & Amber* | I recently wrote a post about the Jo Malone Rock the Ages collection - which can be seen here - and after writing that post I acquired another scent from the collection. This time in Tudor Rose & Amber. This scent is heavier than Lily of the Valley & Ivy and lasts on the skin all day.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - Ivory | I picked this concealer up a couple of months ago to try something new. Only it was more of a rediscovery as I used to use this concealer all the time when the Wake Me Up line was first released a couple of years ago. I’ve fallen back in love with this concealer as its great for under the eyes as well as on blemishes and I currently have a backup of my backup thats how much I love it. 

Nivea Express Hydration Primer | I remember using this moisturiser when it was first released and liking it so I decided to pick it up again on a recent trip to Boots. Its great for mornings when you’re in a rush as its a moisturiser and primer in one which saves time and because of its gel texture is non greasy but still offers great hydration to the skin.

Recently it’s been freezing cold still in England however its been sunny at the same time so my raybans have come in handy as well as my new favourite lip butter. I’ve re-discovered my ‘omega’ eyeshadow, I used to use it for my brows all the time and slowly drifted away from it but picked it up again a few weeks back. My love affair with the Revlon lip stains and the Barry M gelly nail varnishes are still ongoing and I’ve picked up another shade of the lip stain in ‘lovesick’ and three other nail varnishes in ‘greenberry’, ‘papaya’ and ‘pink’. For Christmas I received the Gucci Guilty perfume and I’ve been loving it. I’m not a fan of sweet perfumes and prefer muskier scents which can be hard to get away with in the day but this one is the perfect in between scent. I’ve been trying out a new foundation recently and I love it, I picked it up the day it was released in the UK and haven’t stopped wearing it. I’ve also become obsessed with the real techniques makeup brushes. I own the core collection as well as the blush brush, they’re affordable and insanely good. Lastly I received the Daniel Wellington York ladies watch for me birthday early last month and I’ve been wearing it everyday since. This classic and simple design makes it easy to wear as it matches everything.
